Career Center on Campus
Career Center on Campus is a four-day, overnight camp held at the Ohio State University for TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) eligible students completing the fifth or sixth grade. The Career Center on Campus provides middle schoolers an opportunity to experience a taste of college life. Campers reside in campus dormitories, tour the OSU campus and learn the qualifications and process for college admittance. Careers and their connection to college majors are explored while participants meet with representatives from OSU as well as a variety of professionals who visit to share their experiences. Campers enjoy recreational activities and teamwork exercises. During this four-day camp, participants hone their basic, financial literacy skills and enhance their knowledge of nutrition and fitness. Group exercises, hands-on activities, guest speakers, field trips, swimming, ropes courses and outdoor play are all a part of the Career Center on Campus.
